From the testimony of Simon Charles at the Rehabilitation trial:
"... and since the King was worried that Rheims might put up resistance,
Jehanne told the King, 'Have no fear; the townsmen of Rheims will
come out to meet you;' and added that the townsmen would submit
before he drew near to the city of Rheims. The King feared the
resistance of those from Rheims, because he had neither artillery
nor siege machines to lay siege to the city, if they'd been rebellious.
But Jehanne told the King that he should advance boldly and fear
nothing; for if he was willing to advance courageously he would
gain his whole kingdom."
