Among the 15th century sources are the following:
"Journal of the Siege of Orléans": "When the Maiden saw the King anointed and crowned, she knelt before him, in the presence of all the lords, and embracing his legs and weeping hot tears, said to him, 'Noble king, now is accomplished the will of God, who wished me to lift the siege of Orléans, and to bring you to this city of Rheims to receive your holy anointing, to show that you are the true king, and the one to whom the kingdom of France should belong.' And she provoked great compassion in all who saw her." (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, p. 186).
"La Chronique de la Pucelle" gives a similar description, adding that many people wept along with her (see note at the bottom of the above page).
