Footnote 613
From "Chronique de la Pucelle": "... the Maiden wanted, before the king used his forces to recover his towns and fortresses, to bring him directly to Rheims... some persons took the contrary view, feeling that the king should first besiege Cosne and La Charité, in order to clear out the regions of Berri, Orléans, and the Loire River... in the end, the king decided... that he would go straight to Rheims..." (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, pp. 246 - 247).
Jean Chartier: "... King Charles of France created a great army at the urging of the aforesaid Maiden, who was saying that it was the will of God that King Charles should go to Rheims to be anointed and crowned there. And despite whatever objections or uncertainties that were raised by the aforesaid king or his council, it was decided due to the urging of Jehanne the Maiden, that the king would send for whatever troops he could find to undertake his coronation journey..." (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, p. 69).
