Footnote 619

The correspondence between the leaders of Troyes and Rheims at this time was summarized by Jean Rogier. One portion reads: "And by other letters written on the same day [July 5th], at five hours after noon, upon the walls of the aforesaid town, the aforesaid inhabitants of Troyes sent word to those of Rheims that the enemy and opponent in person, with their forces, had arrived that day, around nine o'clock in the morning, before their town, and had placed them under siege..." (for the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, p. 289).
