Footnote 621

While it's not known when the incident with the Scotsman occurred, it seems likely that it would have been during the army's period of deprivation at Troyes. The incident is mentioned by one of the men who had served in her army, Simon Beaucroix: "And one time a certain Scotsman made it known to her that she had eaten from a calf which had been stolen; at which she was much angered, and because of this she tried to strike the Scotsman."
